Exclamation Hope No Members Live In Destin and That Area of Florida

Hurricane has hit them hard with 155 mph winds and a possible storm surge of 6-9 feet. Not going to be a pretty picture when the tides come in tonight.

Lets hope all got out of harms way and there is no loss of life.

I read that 6 hurricanes now have hit that general area since 1975 (I believe). Sounds like a good place not to retire to.

    Your thoughts??

I stocked up on gas for the generator, cases of water, bread, batteries, etc. All we got was a couple of sprinkles so I guess I am ready for the next power outage, way in the future, I hope.

Our fixed dock went underwater for the third time this go-round on this PM’s high tide, and is still underwater now.

Things should settle after the 3:AM high tide Thursday morning.

I left the ‘toon in the water for this one, though I did double up on the dock lines, and ran long lines from both the bow and stern to a couple of trees.

All should be well, but I’ll get up about 2:AM to keep an eye on things.

Hope you came through with no damage. If you need any assistance give me a call.

    Thanks, Lee!

We came through it just fine.

Even our hunt camp came out OK; the water got about eight inches deep over the whole island, which isn’t deep enough to get into the cabin, or cause any damage at all.
