Case Trimming (Lee Deluxe Power Quick Trim)
I just purchased the Lee Power Quick Trim and the 30-30 QT Die.
Is this how the case should look? It seems rather excessive to me.
It sounded a lot funnier in my head.

No, that doesn't look right.

Agree. In the photo, it looks backwards like it trimmed from the outside up and toward the inside to a point.

Any case trimming I've done (never needed to do very much) had a very even, level edge at the case mouth, with pretty much no internal chamfer required to be suitable for use, which was done as a separate step, if necessary.
I can't even get my head around the purpose of what's shown in Fred's pic.

My Lee power trim leaves a flat edge. Call Lee and ask, they're great for customer service.

Outside should have a slight bevel, that looks way to much. Was the case spinning in the die? Is the trim length right? I would look at resetting up the die first to make sure it is trimming properly, almost looks like instead of trimming properly it beveled more then it should have.

I have the same Lee Case Trimmer and use it for my 7.62x54r, 7.65x53, and 7.92x57. None of my cases come out looking like yours. Call Lee!

I think I will. I'm just using the hand trimmer tools now with great success.
It sounded a lot funnier in my head.

I'll look around. Unfortunately, it will take some time as I've just moved into a new house and unpacking all my reloading ggear is a it down on the list.
It sounded a lot funnier in my head.
